我的 Lo - Lat 宣言

我的 Lo - Lat 宣言:

從現在開始,我願意養成習慣,每年365天,每週七天,每天早中晚三個時段,每個時段至少對別人說一次 Lo-Lat.

TO SIGN THE PLEDGE ONLINE HERE, PLEASE ADD YOUR NAME IN CHINESE OR HOKLO OR FRENCH OR ENGLISH OR GERMAN OR ITALIAN IN THE COMMENTS BELOW:

Today on Culture Road in Chiayi while handing out printed copies of the LO LAT PLEDGE in Chinese Mandarin for 4 hours in the afternoon, I met about 50 young people, including these two junior high school girls, Hannah and her classmate. They read the pledge and took it home with them, saying they will try to follow the pledge and report back to me later how people react to them when they say LO LAT three times a day. Here is a photo Hannah took with her cellphone camera. .....Bravo!

Judy Chang in Chiayi told me: "Dear Daniel.....
My grandmon said LO LAT in my childhood........... My parents changed it to say DO SHAI........ It is hard to hear LO LAT unless on a TV Taiwanese language show.........I think the reason is caused by society changing.''

=====================

NOTE: Mr Tim Maddog is one of the original foreign sayers of LO LAT in the great long ago, and he knows the term from way back and still uses it today. He was one of the early members of TEAM LO LAT nationwide, and his knowledge of the use of the term in daily life has been instrumental in guiding this LO LAT ship to port!

LO LAT, Tim!~

Last night, during a concert by Chen Ming-chan in Chiayi, with an audience of 150 people, mostly people over 50 years of age, I handed out flyers for the pledge to everyone in the room, and plan to continue to hand out DM flyers at public events around the country over the next 5 years....

And when i saw Chen Ming-chan after the concert, a 3 hour show, very nice, all songs in Holo, he greeted me with "LO LAT LO LAT as I shook his hand.....he said LO LAT! he knows what TEAM LO LAT is doing and he supports us. In fact, he is rumored to be writing a song about his own feelings about LO LAT and mother tongue...... cool!
